11 Months later this game is still awesome(Review From Amazon) | General Comments: Most likely if you are reading this, you just got your XBox 360 and are looking for games to buy. If you have had an XBox for sometime and don't own this game, you probably are into stuff like Viva Pinata and the like. Not that there is anything wrong with those games. But I digress.
I bought this game the day it came out and can honestly say that I still play it on a regular basis... The other games will give you a review of the graphics and sound and what have you, so I don't need to get into that. Look at the ratings, nearly everyone gave it a 5 star rating. This game is amazing, and a perfect blend of realism and fun in a video game.
I got Halo3 because everyone had it. Don't get me wrong, it has some cool features especially the multiplayer method of putting matches together, that is cool. But I don't dig the aliens and lasers nonsense. Maybe I will be into that in the year 2319 or whenever it takes place and when we are fighting aliens, but in the mean time, terrorist taking over casinos is more likely. People continue to play this game, and even when GRAW2 came out people shyed away and came back. The Halo hype is wearing off and people are returning to R6V.
Do yourself a favor, get this game. |

Open and Clear...room on your shelf for Rainbow Six: Vegas!(Review From Amazon) | General Comments: What do you think of a game that is better than every other game (well, maybe Gears of War is an exception) on the Xbox 360? Are enemies dumb like all others in the Rainbow Series? How are the Graphics? Is the gameplay more of the same? Are the controls difficult? What about Multiplayer? To sum up all these questions, the answer is the one you hope to hear (in order): no, awesome, no, no, amazing. Where to start?
Your foes are extremely intellegent. They flank you, communicate, and use cover very well. It's really scary to think that your safe behind a concrete pillar when all of a sudden a frag grenade, or even worse, an incendiary, lands right next to your sorry self with your enemy's fingerprints on it. They do a lot of the oh-gee-thanks favor of hurling grenades your way. They are incredibly accurate. A chill always runs down your spine when you realize a tango with a shotgun flanks you and pulls the trigger one inch from your now-messed-up face.
The graphics are amazing. The lighting is truly dazzeling, and reminds me of all the glittering lights of Vegas. The blood effects are very amazing and detailed. When you shoot your for in the stomach, blood splats onto the wall, and there's a wound on him. The circle of blood expands, with tiny drops running down his shirt, while falling with beautiful ragdoll physics. The characters themselves are a wonder to look at, with rinkles on clothes and high-tech gear everywhere.
The gameplay is very intense. You think up a plan. If you go in and one thing goes wrong, boom. Your head is bleeding right now. No worries, the checkpoint system is always there, right before major encounters. Besides, I don't mind killing the same tango 10 times in a row. It never gets boring. The scripted events really get you thinking. The command system is intuitive and easy to use. Additionally, there's a high replay value, since there's usually multiple paths, even to one room. Also, the achievements are varied, and you should get about 150 points just by blowing through the game, which lasted about 8-10 hours for me. Realistic difficulty-a lot longer and intense, and, well, more realistic.
The controls are very easy to use. The command system is easy to use. It's easy to shoot the terrorist on the other side of that door. What more to say?
No words can explain multiplayer. That's a good thing. Multiplayer is even more intense than single-player. Not only that, but you can do co-op modes on single player levels, either the story again or terrorist hunt, where you hunt terrorist through the level until they are all killed or you are all killed. You get you regular survival, team survival, retrieval (like capture the flag), deathmatch, and team deathmatch. But you also get attack and defend, wherre one team either tries to capture intel and bring it to the extraction point, defuse a bomb, or rescue hostages, all while they race against time and the defenders. Two new modes are coming out soon, assassination and territory, the former where you have to kill one team's "VIP" (hostage that has been rescued) while they try to get him to safety, and the latter being a mode where you capture zones. Many achievements are spread over multiplayer. Your sure to get at least 50 gamerscore just by playing. The maps are all fun, and there's a lot of them, with five more coming soon. Lastly, there's PEC (Persistent Elite Creation). You gain experience points by playing games, whether or not you win (you get more by winning, of course). These experience points get you ranked up eventually, unlocking new gear to dress up your guy (and make him look cool) and more guns to outfit your guy with, so he becomes more lethal.
I can't believe what you're missing out on if you don't have this game. This is THE BEST game I have ever played. So go out and pick this up from store shelves today!
