Great game in the series. (Review for Single Player Game)

General Comments:
I really like this series of games. They are very innovative in design. What's cool is you get to command your guys in combat.

There are a couple of glitches, where one of your members may be stuck moving inside a wall and you can't get him out. But, when you are in a new location and you happen to turn around, he's there with you. Even if you've been issuing "Follow" command the whole time.

But, overall, the missions are cool. What I like about this game is you get to try different paths. It's very challenging.

Now, here's what I don't like. The scoring. At the end of Socom III you had a rating. A, B, C, etc. Here you don't you have a point based system. Sometimes it's confusing. I actually completed some Bonus objectives, but even when I got to the scoring screen it showed that I had no bonus points? Very confusing.

Aside from this, the game is very well done. I love the graphics, the sound, the environments. Very, very cool.

I highly recommend this game to anyone who enjoys combat games that require you to be PATIENT and THINK about what you are doing. This isn't a "Call of Duty", or a "Medal of Honor" game.

Check it out. I'm pretty much a Socom fan for good!!!

Still missing one thing

(Review From Amazon)
General Comments:
I have played all of the socom games, including the PSP ones. This one is fantastic, one of the best of the series if not THE best. Still waiting for them to implement the ability to exchange weapons with your teamates though.

The Always Reliable SOCOM

(Review From Amazon)
General Comments:
This has always been one of my favorite series of games; The missions are varied and full of nice locations; the graphics have always been above average for the PS2, and continue to only get better; The controls have been vastly improved since SOCOM 3, which had been greated updated from SOCOM 2, and so on; Commanding your team is easy and actually effective; Alot of people are scared off by the whole 'I have to command and lead teammates?'. Don't be here, as it has never been any simpler. I can't imagine what the first PS3 game will be like; If you're a fan of the series, this should make you more than happy. If not, this would be a good place to get on board. There are lots of intense firefights and some stealth, and some vechicle usage as well. It controls well, and as said before, the graphics are outstanding for a PS2 game. A series that is constantly evolving...

I've had better

(Review From Amazon)
General Comments:
I don't play video games all that much anymore and I really wanted to find a game that everyone was talking about. I had heard a lot about Socom and so I went all out for the newest one - Combined Assault. The graphics are great and the controls aren't too hard to master. The missions are just a little bit slow - maybe because it is just the middle levels of the game. I can definitely see that this would be a really great game to play against your buddies or online.

The ABSOLUTE WORST part of this is that you can't play two player. I really think that would have changed the entire experience for me.
