More Frustrating Than Fun(Review From Amazon) | General Comments:
The game features incredible graphics and a wide variety of vehicles but that's about it. It is clear programmers took a lot of short cuts such as using the same tracks over and over and over... They also used the age old (and very unrealistic) trick of having the computer controlled vehicles vary their speed based on your success. The better you do, the better they do. So if you're struggling just stop, wait ten seconds and then you'll be able to catch the leaders. You can also get your vehicle stuck in several places with nothing in the programming to reset you. Your only option is to hold the boost button down until you explode. But by the time that happens, the competition is long gone. I've played a lot of great racing games... this isn't one of them. |

Great graphics, shallow gameplay, no multiplayer, limited replay value(Review From Amazon) | General Comments:
I had a lot of fun with the demo for the first hour but after that go bored with the one track. With only 8 tracks total in the release game I do not think there is a lot of replay value here, but it is definitely worth a rental and I still plan to do so. The vehicle physics in the demo were pretty weak IMO (the motorcyle was horrible and the buggy and truck average), but the demo track did not really require that much mastery of the handling (boost and e-brake do not require much skill).
After being a huge fan of Burnout I found the crashes very underwhelming and unsatisfying. The demo track is quite interesting the first few times you play it and I especially liked the jumbotron screen you pass and see a TV version of the ongoing gameplay. The different routes also had some nice risk and reward to them but I still felt the overall racing to be pretty shallow.
All in all not bad for a 1st gen game and the visuals are spectacular but my suggestion is rent before you buy so you can decide for yourself if the limited gameplay is enough for you. |

MOTORSTORM IS THE BEST ps3 GAME EVER TO HIT THE SHELVES, I'VE PLAYED THE DEMO AT TARGET AND BEST BUY. I COULD NOT STOP PLAYING IT! THE GRAPHICS ARE SUPERB. AND THE CARS ARE AWESOME! YOU CAN DRIVE RALLY CARS,[MY FAVORITE] BUGGYS, RACING TRUCKS, MX BIKES AND AND THE MIGHTY BIG RIGS!!
MY FAVORITE FEATURE IS YOU CAN CHOOSE A VEHICLE ON THE GRID BEFORE THE RACE STARTS. IF YOU HAVE A PS3 AND ARE LOOKING FOR A RACING GAME. THIS IS THE GAME FOR YOU! |
