Great game but a little repetative(Review From Amazon) | General Comments: While playing this game I found the experience genuinely enjoyable for the first few hours of play. After about 3/4 through the game the game play gets a little repetitive, but still enjoyable. The plot was written well and the story is entertaining, but the voice acting is a little generic and dull. Overall the game is a nice new look on the action shooter, adding some great flavor to the genre, but the game lacks that classic replay ability that all top games have. |

better than expected(Review From Amazon) | General Comments: I have to admit that I was very pleasantly surprised with this game. I have read all the negative reviews and I was very dubious about buying it, but since my wife got it for me and it only cost 20 bucks I figured it was worth popping it in for a spin. The story was slow getting you into the game and it is very jumpy and final fantasy esc in some of the mannerisms and dialogue, and it makes very little sense to this point.
Despite some poor directing with the voice actors and some plot issues, or lack of plot, the game is really fun. I don't mind the thermal energy thing, there are usually plenty of ways to fill up, and the in-game action so far has been really impressive. I just got done playing GOW and in some ways I think Lost Planet has it beat...in few ways, but some. The explosions are amazing, the graphics are impressive, and the creatures are incredibly fun to fight. It isn't realistic, but it is just dang fun to be blown thirty feet through the air and then get up firing at some giant ice dragon.
The game is not without its flaws but it is still a good game, especially for the price we paid. It is defiantly worth renting to see if you like it, or buy it cheap. Maybe with the exception of individuals who can't stand games that are timed or where you have to collect things, I usually don't like those types myself, but this one doesn't bother me. Whatever you do, don't buy it if your in the mood for a good, engaging plot with quality voice acting, you wont find it here...or I would have given it 5 stars.

pretty good(Review From Amazon) | General Comments: This game is ok, it has awesome graphics. I agree with some people saying the thermal energy is a waste because you constantly have to get those little red things and if you run out you die, it makes no sence, the guy that you play with runs slow which another dude said, but its a challenge the bosses are pretty hard but not all of them, but i hate fighting the bosses because half the time i lose all of my thermal energy but i dont really recommend it but, you can buy it if you want... |

not what it should be(Review From Amazon) | General Comments: Lost Planet seemed to be at first another great next-gen game for the 360. Maybe you could've even put it in the lineup with games out like gears of war and rainbow six vegas. But sadly, with games like those released, Lost Planet doesnt compare.
Lost Planet is a third person shooter (your camera angle is behind the main character, unlike FPS) and with not to many 3rdPS's out right now, you can only really compare it to gears of war and splinter cell:double agent, which, like said, cannot be compared. The graphics although are outstanding. The explosion effects are just awesome. I could blow those barrels up all day just to see the fire. Really good effects with graphics and sound. Gameplay is ok. You feel like you run really slow, kinda like you have weights tide to your ankles. Also those little red things you need to get to keep warm and not die(sorry, forgot what they're called), it a cool new add-in thats gives more challenge, but at the same time, can be very annoying when fighting a boss and you die just because you couldnt find the little red things. Then agian, the boss fights are done very well. Its a good challenge, but pretty fun at the same time. The story is interesting, yet kind of confusing for some people. I dont like giving stuff like that away though, so find out yourself :). But honestly it just isnt that fun when you have such better shooter games out there to play. I have not played this online, so maybe there is a difference online, but still, i wouldn't waste my money. It is worth a rent i would say, but just like I've said about other "so-so" games, not worth $60. you can save that money for gasoline. |
