Incredibly fun with the right dose of reality....(Review From Amazon) | General Comments: This game is amazing. I am especially impressed by it because it turned out to be exactly what I wanted. I love flying games, especially aerial combat, but when it is too technical and all sim I get frustrated. This game finds that perfect middle ground. You can stall, crash, lose control, and so forth... but you do not need the skills of a professional pilot to play it. Any gamer can get the hang of the controls with some practice and it is a TON for fun to fly around. Your plane is not indestructable but can take some damage so it is not like a few shots puts you on the ground. Missions and enemies come in a variety of difficulty levels so both the novice and expert will feel challenged byt different game modes. There are abour 40 different aircraft that you can fly in the game and various missions utilize unique attacks: machine guns, bombs, torpedos, rockets, and even phtos are all skills you must learn. I found the graphics to be pretty impressive, even without an HDTV. The background music is pretty cool, too, and that adds a lot to the gaming experience. I have had a blast with the game so far. I have mainly flown campaign missions, arcade mode (gun down enemies to earn time and pass checkpoints), and duels with aces. I don't think I have had as much fun playing a flight game since the days of Red Baron. You will not regret this purchase! I did not even mention the use of sixaxis control, which is another great feature that is used well in this game. Again, Blazing Angels is highly, highly recommended for the PS3. |

Great Game for the PS3(Review From Amazon) | General Comments: This is one of only two PS3 games I've bought so far, and have enjoyed it. The controls take a little getting used to, but once you have them you can get lost in the story without much trouble. There are some levels that are difficult and have taken me a long time to get past, playing the same battle over and over again. It is also frustrating that you have to start each mission over again if you have to quit at any time. But the graphics and sound are great and its fun to play. |

Amazing!!!(Review From Amazon) | General Comments: This game is definately not what I expected. I thought that the sixaxis controller(ps3 motion sensor controller) wouldn't have a huge impact on the game, but I was wrong. The sixaxis is unbelievably fun. Any movements that you make with your hands, the plane immediately moves, just like on the Nintendo Wii if not better. By doing this I feel like im actually flying a plane and naturally chase down enemies and shoot them down. You have all sorts of missions to do that are all fun and sometimes pretty challenging, and a lot of planes to choose from. This game has strong graphics(not like resistance, but still good) that make the WWII battles seem realistic. Overall, I'd have to say this game is definately worth your time. |

Not an Ace Combat - missing planes(Review From Amazon) | General Comments: The controls are very good (4 options) and use the motion sensitive feature if you turn it on. Some missions are very frustrating, enough that I put the game away for a week or so.
I play on a standard TV (S-video) and the defintion is great, I also use the optical audio much better than the RCA Red/White.
The P-38 is absent, too bad. The game play while fun is missing something, can't really say what, just if you're an Ace Combat fan - this ain't it. I know it's not jets but that's not the problem.
If I had it to do over again, I'd probably wait for it to go on sale or wait for the PS3 Ace Combat (hopefully). |
