Great FPS MMO

(Review From Amazon)
General Comments:
Full of FPS action in a fun multiplay enviornment. Lack of any single player campaigm (just practice vs. dummy soldiers) limits its long term playability and removes any RPG feel. A great game if you just want to get together with friends and blow each other up, but limited by having only the multiplay enviornment. "Rank advancement" based off of online accomplishments can be rough to noobs, but adds a unique game element.

Good but...

(Review From Amazon)
General Comments:
I think that the game is good and fun, if you like multiplayer FPS. It has some great elements, like the whole Sci-Fi feel to it. But it does have some big and some small issues. Big issue, it can be a pain to install. It wouldn't work on one of my computer because as far as I can tell it doesn't like my DVD drive. I contacted support and tried everything including a reinstall of windows and nothing worked. However I just got a new laptop and tried it out on there and it worked very good, in the 6 hours I played it it crashed once, which isn't too bad I suppose.

Some small issues, why the heck does a tank get slightly damaged when you bump into a building or oh my gosh a tree! I don't know how many times I was driving a vehicle around and wished I could run a tree over, seriously it is a tank it can run a tree over. Or the small fences that are around... It is a issue I've noticed in some other games though, such as Tribes. But it should be fixed. Other than that, a better tutorial would have been helpful...

The action is pretty good, people aren't too hard to kill but not too easy either which is nice, some games it is way to easy to die but this one is pretty balanced. The classes are nice and so are the unlock points. Pretty good balance and requires teamwork.

I give the game a 4.5 for fun, but only a 3.5 overall because it needs some refinement and because of my issues with getting it running on my machine.

The franchise is ruined

(Review From Amazon)
General Comments:
EA Games/DICE have ruined a wonderful franchise. BF1942 & BF Vietnam were excellent games. Many hours in my house were spent battling for control of control points, sniping friends, flying under bridges & upside down. But now, it's just dumb.

BF 2142 is just plain garbage. Absolute trash. I purchased this game against the suggestion of many reviewers, and I regret it. I can deal with the attempt at placing ads in the game, it's annoying, but their agreement seems to protect me.

What I can't deal with is the total lack of coherant control systems in a game. Why in the world does every bot have grenades, but I can't seem to get a them? Why do the instructions say "drag an item into your kit" but the items never drop into my kit? Why does it take me 45 seconds and 20 mouse movements to swing a turret 90 degrees? In that time, I'm dead.

I won't get into too many details of the game. Suffice it to say, if this is warfare of the future, we're all doomed....

Don't buy this game. Get [...] while you still can. Download the patches & archive them. You'll get many more hours of enjoyable playtime with those games. Even with the idiotic bots of BFV, it'll be more enjoyable.

EA - Glitches, Exploits, Adware, Spyware??? It's in the Game!

(Review From Amazon)
General Comments:
EA and DICE team up to bring you another buggy and exploitable online experience. The game is very immersable and enjoyable until the bottom feeder script kiddies get a new hack. Once a hack makes the scene the game play goes to garbage, with unlimmited artillery strikes, supply drops and emp strikes. Then, there are glitches in the game where you can sit on the side of a Titan (The big aircraft carrier in the sky) and kill people that are behind a shield supposedly protected from all enemies.
Now if that's not bad enough, there is a psudo police force out there called BFROE(battle field rules of engagement). These guys are all pretty much the fat guy in the "make love not warcraft" episode of south park. They go around trying to ban knife and pistol servers that people play on to learn the techniques of proper knife and pistol fighting.
This group also tries to enforce their standard of play on everyone.

It is really too bad for EA and DICE that they release they have a buy it now, we'll patch it later mentallity.

This game is awesome and I love it, but the bottom line is that the people who use the exploits kill the game and the company is lazy when it comes to fixing the glitches and exploits.

Buy the game but expect the script kiddies (people who can't hack but use hacks made by someone else and therefore not hackers.) to kill your game buzz with unlimmited artillery strikes and aimbots.
